Navel Meditation

Navel Meditation
Navel meditation may be done by a beginner as you focus your breath on your belly area and your breathing.
During our journey seeking evolution, the sure way to have a steady progress is to begin in a basic and uncomplicated manner.

This meditation was created by the Taoist tradition and the oldest form of meditation recognised in India and China. Although it is used by experienced people, it is also a good introductory meditation for beginners. It uses the natural rhythms of the breath and the regular movement of the abdomen as a means to focus awareness and rid oneself of extraneous thoughts. As your mind starts to focus on the breath, the tumult within reveals itself, allowing the person to train the mind to accept peace as its natural state of mind.

To begin, sit comfortably; either cross-legged on a cushion on the floor or on a chair with your legs facing forward. Maintaining an upright, balanced posture, will ensure that you are physically centred and prevent fatigue. Close your eyes and gradually relax your body, starting at the toes and going upwards to end at the crown of the head. Take a moment to note any physical sensations you are feeling, such as the hardness of the floor under you, or the weight of a piece of jewellery you're wearing, such as a watch. When you are relaxed, breathe through the nose at your natural pace. With each inhalation, draw air deep into the abdomen, allowing the area surrounding the navel to rise and fall. Gradually focus your attention on the sensations caused by the inhalation and exhalation of breath. Feel the air flowing in and out of the nostrils as well as the expansion and contraction of the abdomen. If you find it difficult to concentrate on both sensations, concentrate only on the movement of the navel area.

You may notice that your mind strays. When this occurs, do not attach any significance to your thoughts. Simply bring the attention back to breath, as it flows in and out of the body, and the movement of the navel. The amount of mental chatter will eventually slow down to a trickle, and you will learn to control your thoughts until you are no longer at the mercy of your reactions. the more you practice this meditation, the more you will be able to get back to this relaxed state easily throughout the day.

Liberate Yourself

Your  personal space is a reflection of your inner state of Being.
Physical clutter is said to be connected to mental clutter, it can be beneficial to get rid of unwanted objects thereby releasing emotional and stressful baggage. It also turns the home into a blissful sanctuary that nurtures the soul each time we return to it for that much needed solace.

Cleansing the home space in this way, makes you feel renewed and determined to arrange personal belongings in a spiritually enriching way.
The home, like your mind, becomes a repository for energy that invigorates you.
Letting go of possessions that don't contribute to your emotional well-being will make you feel nurtured in your personal space.

Intentions

Feeling Stuck in your life? If you are ready to allow in the winds of change, let the Universe know of your intention.
Get clarity on which part of your life you wish to change, then be specific in your declaration to the Universe by writing it on a sheet of paper and placing it in your special place of meditation, an altar if you have one, or in your wish box.

Set aside a time slot daily for you to spend it energizing your intent like a mantra, repeating it like a message to the Universe that you are ready for this change and have your arms open to welcome the new into your life.

It is always a good plan to ask the Universe for what works in alignment with your highest good and to be patient when awaiting results, as the energy may have blockages which must be released before your wishes manifest. This is also termed Divine Timing and must always be respected.

Watch for signs of action which must be undertaken by you to bring about the outcome you desire. You must be an active participant in your life's journey. Then watch as the opportunities and offers are placed in your path to help you create the change you seek.

De-Cluttering For A New Beginning

De-clutter And Prepare for a New Beginning

People may cling to familiar objects because they have a fear of empty spaces if they get rid of them. Objects remind us of events in our lives when these objects were present, like a souvenir of past events. Memories will always be with us whether we have physical objects as reminders or not, however, by clinging to them, we become stuck in a rut and the energy in our personal space becomes stagnant.

Holding on to unnecessary possessions may be linked to pain, anger and resentment as a protection from having to face new challenges, but these will also prevent you from welcoming new things entering your life.

Make a conscious effort and decide to keep only the objects that bring you joy and that lift your mood if necessary.

This will lead to mental clarity as you learn to enjoy a more practical relationship to possessions and then positive changes will start to enter your life and you will have space to create the life that you desire.

Chakras - Colour meditation

Colour Meditation

Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed for a few minutes.
Sit in a comfortable position with your back straight and take a few moments to quiet your mind.

Bring your focus to your breath, breathe deeply for four seconds, then hold your breath for four seconds and finally slowly exhale for four seconds. This will raise your vibration almost instantly, repeat the breathing exercise three times. Observe the air entering your body, bringing its life-giving oxygen to every cell, and then leaving, taking with it all distractions and irrelevant thoughts.

Now bring your focus to the chakras, placed in a line from the root to the crown and pulsing with your vital energy. Visualise each chakra in turn as a spinning wheel of colour. Spend a few minutes on each chakra, before moving to the next one.

1. Start by visualising the red circle of the root chakra and its grounding energy.  See the circle spinning faster and feel safe and secure in the power that connects you to the earth.
2. Move to the orange of the sacral chakra and as it spins, feel the love you feel for your true, inner self.
3. Visualise the bright yellow of the solar plexus chakra and allow it to clear out vibrations of jealousy, despair, anger, hatred, and any other negative emotions that you may have been holding onto. See it bathed in positive emotions of tranquillity, happiness and joy, which make the chakra move faster and brighter.
4. Now move to the rose colour of the heart chakra and focus on a feeling of unconditional love that asks for nothing in return.
5. Visualise the light blue of the throat chakra, drawing in and sending out true, harmonious  communication, linking you to all living creatures.
6. Move to the third eye chakra, situated in the brow, spinning in a vibrant deep indigo colour, and picture it vibrating to the rhythm of your calm, focused mind and body.
7. Now focus on the last one, the crown chakra, with its violet light in a circle of tranquillity, peace and oneness with the greater spirit.

Stand back, mentally, and watch all the chakras, spinning together in unity. Watch them restore balance to your body and mind, lighten your heart and open your spirit.

Concentration

Concentration
A troubled mind-set can cloud the focus, leaving one unable to concentrate on the events unfolding all around. Feeling unfocused will make it difficult to make decisions or hone in on goals.
To regain the ability to focus on details that are important, it is essential to take a step back in order to re-educate the mind. Focus on a single topic, no matter how insignificant, and an improvement will be seen soon.

Concentrate the whole of the mental energy on a single, simple topic that can be thought through in its entirety. It may initially seem that there is little value in small tasks, however, these processes of mental exercise help us recapture our ability to concentrate by giving us the confidence to banish distracting notions. We thus condition ourselves to effectively fix our attention on those hefty details of life that are vital to our well-being.
