Treating Yourself to Solitude

Treating Yourself To Solitude

Activities that normally stimulate you can leave you feeling exhausted  on some days. In the company of many people, you may find yourself retreating into unoccupied corners and taking pains to avoid conversing with others.

Try to find a peaceful and pleasant place where you can reflect and relax without being interrupted by people or by pressing obligations. This can be a wonderful time to take a personal day and indulge in those healthful and restful activities that bring you pleasure.

When we see solitude for the treat it is, we can feel positive about the time we spend enjoying the pleasures of our own company. People frequently fear being alone because they equate solitude with loneliness and isolation. However, when we make the choice to spend time apart from our fellow human beings, the solitude can be quite illuminating as it affords us a wonderful opportunity to learn about ourselves and our individual needs.  We can explore the deepest reaches of our souls without making judgements or endeavouring to change ourselves.
