Exploring the Self

Exploring the Self

A craving for a deeper knowledge of the self can lead you to engage in exploratory activities. Even if you seldom pursue introspective activities, you may feel driven to learn more about who you are and who you wish to become. This can be a wonderful time to delve beneath the surface aspects of your personality and character in order to discover what is motivating your inner- and outer-world choices. You may find that you have trouble moving beyond the first few layers of your conscious mind. By proceeding slowly, you can assuage any fears you might have about what you will discover when your knowledge of self becomes increasingly complete.

When we understand the importance of both our surface-level selves and the aspects of the self that lie buried deeply beneath that surface, we are equipped to embark upon a journey of self-discovery that encompasses the whole being rather than just a single element of it. Upon coming face-to-face with a blockage-emotional or otherwise-we can either continue to probe in the knowledge that there are layers beneath we have yet to access, or we can move on to some new part of ourselves with the intention of delving deeper in order to approach the issue from an alternate angle. What we discover will fascinate as well as enlighten us, as we come to see how complex and intriguing we truly are. As you dig below the surface, you will find much to occupy your curious mind.

Beliefs and Values

Beliefs and Values

Our intense dedication to the beliefs and values important to us can often undermine our efforts to expand ourselves through education.

As intrigued as we are by the philosophical ideals embraced by other cultures, we sometimes cannot help but compare them unfavorably to our own. We can avoid this pitfall by committing ourselves to a path of non-judgmental observation in which we endeavor only to take in information.

Though we may choose not to integrate our discoveries into our individual ideologies, we can nonetheless appreciate how profoundly important certain concepts and ideas are to the people who have taken them to heart and adopted them as elements of their value systems. We learn so much about the world around us when we put aside our personal feelings and observe without passing a verdict on that which we survey.

Reconnect with your Inner Self

Reconnect with your Inner Self

If you begin to feel disconnected from your inner self today, you may need to spend time away from the world to get centered and grounded.

Look for opportunities to be alone so you can reflect on your life. The uncertainty that may have been plaguing you will be replaced by feelings of security and serenity.

Meditating or journaling can also be effective ways to reconnect with yourself and remember your worth.

Taking the time to periodically reconnect with your inner self can help you stay firm about your values
and affirm your self-worth. The world can be a very distracting place, and our interactions with others  can cause us to forget ourselves or temper the traits and ideals that make us unique. Make time for
quiet reflection so you can remember that you are a beautiful soul with one-of-a-kind gifts to offer the world. When you acknowledge your value, your uniqueness will emerge, and events that had caused you to doubt yourself will no longer have an effect on you. A short period of introspection may be all you need to remember your worth.

Conscientiousness in Breathing

Conscientiousness in breathing
This can be done by setting the intention to do your work mindfully and with attention to detail by using breath awareness as a tool to help you. Notice your breath and how you are breathing. If it is shallow, it may be an indication that you need to focus on slowing down and becoming more careful.

Breath is a powerful tool that we can use to become more cognizant of what we are doing. When we are caught up in moment, it is easy for our minds to become scattered and preoccupied. Adjusting our breathing to become slower and steadier lets our minds also slow down and more readily perceive what we are doing in the moment, which in turn allows us to work with greater awareness.

Decisions

                            Decisions
A dull veil of uncertainty can cloud your eyes, causing you to feel distresses each time you are faced with a decision. Because you likely cannot envision the path leading toward your eventual fulfillment, you may have no idea as to how to achieve your objectives in the present. Remedying this confusion will likely be a matter of your adopting a more proactive attitude toward the many choices before you.

Confusion and uncertainty vanish in the face of decisiveness, even if the choices being made are relatively unimportant. When we are unsure as to how best to proceed as we deal with complex and challenging matters, we may begin to believe that we are incapable of making any sort of decision at all. In such a situation, we can overcome the self-doubt paralyzing us by making minor choices decisively until our confidence has returned. The success of these small decisions serves to remind us that we are indeed capable of acting as captains of our own ship.

We eventually learn to view large, potentially life-changing choices as being well within the realm of our understanding and abilities. The decisions you must make to achieve your objectives will become clear to you when you are decisive in other areas of your existence.

Consciousness of Abundance

Consciousness of Abundance

One good way to overcome feelings of lack is to turn your thoughts around and focus on abundance.

You may wish to engage in a period of powerful visualization in order to get your thoughts flowing in the right direction.
Simply find a private place to be alone and get into a meditative state of mind. As you feel peace and relaxation flowing throughout your body, begin to think about the blessings and wealth you have in your life. Think about the additional wealth and security you wish to attract, affirm that it already exists in some form, and invite it into your life.

By affirming that we already have a life full of abundance, we automatically begin attracting more of it into our lives. Our first reaction when experiencing lack is to focus on what we do not have, which only attracts more of the same experiences into our lives. If we instead choose to consciously turn our thoughts around and focus on abundance with a sense of confidence and surety that it is on its way to us, we put forth energy that will attract similar energy in the form of wealth and blessings. By consistently keeping a mind-set of abundance today and beyond, you will affirm to the universe that you are ready to embrace the blessings you attract.

Clarity in your Path

Clarity in your Path
Pondering the purpose of your life, evaluating your long-term goals, releasing destructive behavioral patterns, or trying to gain more clarity about your life path? Though you may be feeling uncertain about which way to turn, the answers lie within you. If you can make a little time for yourself, spend it getting in touch with your inner wisdom. Write a list of the questions you need answered. Quiet your mind, breathe deeply, and listen for the voice of your inner wisdom. When you receive an answer, jot it down. This process should help you gain more clarity and perspective about your life.

With consistent practice, we can learn to tune into the wisdom of our higher selves and can gain valuable guidance about our lives. Learning to hear the voice of our inner wisdom is a process that takes time and consistent effort. We are often bombarded with other voices too, like our inner critic, fears, and worries. If we can learn to tune those voices out, empty our minds, and enter a place of serenity, we can hear the voice of our inner wisdom. With practice, we learn to rely on our inner wisdom for guidance and strength. By going inward for the answers you seek, you will tap into an endless source of inspiration, guidance, and empowerment.

Motivated to Move

Motivated to Move

Making the most of intermittent high-energy levels can be as easy as interpreting the heightened liveliness we feel as a cue that we need to spend time engaging in physically challenging activities.

The modern world tends to reward those who pursue sedentary lifestyles and professions, but the human body is designed for movement and our energy levels reflect this. On the surface, our liveliness is a sign that we are healthy and equipped to exert ourselves. When we look at the deeper implications of our vigour, we see that movement is a vital element of our well-being and that our increasing energy levels are the body's way of indicating that it is high time we got a little physical exercise.

We become motivated to move when we feel that our cache of stored energy is full and in need of release.

Generous Spirit

Feeling the urge to do something caring? You might want to bring your attention to your heart centre and ask yourself if your motives are due to the true generosity of your spirit or if they are centered in your need to be useful. Doing this could allow you to more easily give your love and care unconditionally.

Giving from our heart centre makes the care and concern we show for others much more treasured and cherished. Many of us have a generous nature, so it can be difficult to separate our wish to be useful from a pure intention to help those in our lives. Learning to ask our hearts what we truly feel, lets us know when we are being honest with ourselves in terms of our intent. Our hearts will then tell us if what we are doing is aligned with the real desires of our spirit.

Peace Within

Making the most of the peace blossoming within your soul can be as easy as seeking out a quiet and pleasant place where you can pass the time. As you revel in beauty and serenity, any lingering physical or mental tension you feel will likely melt away. Should you find yourself plagued by thoughts of upcoming obligations or those duties that have been left undone, however, remind yourself that there will likely always be an occasion to address your responsibilities. The time you spend in a place of peace today can be precious and contribute to your overall emotional well-being.

Peace without inspires peace within, which is why retreating into a place of tranquility can have a profoundly positive impact on our state of mind. Even when we already feel serene, a few moments spent breathing in bliss in a quiet place of beauty can refresh our souls and remind us that there is much pleasure to be had in this life. Such a retreat offers us a unique opportunity to rest away from worldly distractions. We are free to reflect upon the tranquility we have cultivated within ourselves, thus sharpening our ability to find our own relief in times of need or strife. In serenity, we come to understand the true source of inner peace. When you spend time in a tranquil environment today, the internal peacefulness you feel will be intensified.

Welcoming your Manifestations

Welcoming your Manifestations

You may discover that your future looks brighter and more distinct than it ever has before, if you hold onto the positive aspects of your expectancy, while divesting yourself of the edginess.

As we look toward the future with positive expectations in our core, we are more apt to take the necessary steps to actively welcome the stuff of our dreams into our reality. Most of the blessings that we enjoy in the present came into our existence as the result of our own thoughts, intentions, choices, and actions. The straightforward, yet sincere belief that we are destined to experience a world defined by richness and goodness is enough to activate us to work diligently in order to build lives of abundance.

We embrace those challenges that force us to test our limits because we understand that triumph is not the result of luck or chance, but rather a product of dedication and faith. The powerful anticipation you feel will encourage you to create the life you desire.

Blissful Interactions

Blissful Interactions
Focusing on being in the moment, the time you have with the people around you is a precious gift that should be savoured and enjoyed to the utmost. One might want to use one’s breath to keep one in the present and help one truly take pleasure in the interactions engaged in.
Remembering to take deep abdominal breaths throughout the conversations, and briefly looking upon the people as blessings that enrich our lives, we may notice that time slows down. When this happens, it could seem that each moment experienced vibrates with healthy, positive, and happy energy.
So often in our interactions it can be easy for us to become preoccupied by our own thoughts and opinions; so much so that we don’t truly listen to or engage completely in what is going on around us. Being completely there, however, brings a different kind of energy to our interactions, something that is filled with joy and laughter; something that is special, loving and effervescent. As you become more in the moment you will find that your conversations will come alive, ignited by the joy that comes from being completely conscious.

Enlivening Inspiration

Enlivening Inspiration
Inspiration is a force that enlivens and activates us to do something: dance, sing, paint or even visualise a new career. We might call a friend and plan a trip abroad. Inspiration lifts you into a higher level of seeing. There are many ways to cultivate its presence, from journalling to scrap booking. Finding what inspires you and consciously cultivating it will give you access to new ways of thinking and energy you didn't know you had.

Some people find that frequent trips into nature inspire them. Others have a box full of objects - a seashell, an old photograph, a collection of rocks, etc. If you already know what inspires you, find a way to incorporate it into your life on a regular basis. When was the last time you felt the spark of your imagination, or acted on an impulse that felt totally right? When we are in the presence of what inspires us, we hear our inner guidance more clearly and we have the energy to follow its cues.

If it has been a while since you have been touched by inspiration, you may feel listless and dissatisfied. Know that you can turn things around by remembering what lights you up and bringing it into your life.

Universal Wisdom

Universal Wisdom

There is more to living your life than simply your day-to-day
activities, and you may want to find ways to incorporate this
spiritual wisdom into your life. Searching for clarity through spiritual teachings and meditation could give you even more profound insights into your life and how you should live it. If you can, find a quiet place to search within and ask the universe to guide you in this process of awakening by either contemplating your life or by reading the words and knowledge of enlightened teachers. Asking for help in your search could give you a deeper awareness of what you can do to make your life more meaningful.

Bringing universal wisdom into our lives increases our consciousness and understanding about our overall purpose on earth. Creating a life that is full of meaning involves so much more than simply wishing it to be so. It also takes a concerted effort to connect with the innermost part of our higher selves be it through meditation, prayer, reflection, or study. These things allow us to tap into the unlimited knowledge of the universe and find our direction for further growth. By awakening your divine connection to the universe, your life will have more meaning and you will move even closer to self-realization.

Nightly Ritual

Nightly Ritual
At the end of the day, as the dark stillness of night beckons us to lay down and rest, we find ourselves at a clear transition point: behind us lies the previous day and all that has passed; ahead of us, dawn heralds the unfolding of all that is yet to come. While many of us have morning rituals that connect us with our centre and help us to set intentions, we may want to explore the magic and power of night time ritual as well. It holds for us a chance for self-appreciation and blessing. Before you go to bed each night, you can send gratitude, compassion and healing to the being you have been up until that moment. You can also send lightness and love into the future for the one you are in the process of becoming.

Although simple, this ritual honours the journey you have taken thus far. When you consciously engage with your own evolution this way, you may find that you sleep better, filling your night with a deeper sense of trust and relaxation. As you rest, you can surrender to this peaceful time, knowing that the road behind you has been acknowledged with respect and compassion, while the path ahead now holds your own benevolence and well wishes.

This bedtime ritual empowers you as the only one who can determine the meaning of your own past and the hopefulness of your future. By setting this special time aside each  night, you allow yourself to let the past have its place, to trust that the future is taken care of, and to simply rest yourself in the graceful arms of the present moment.

Ageless Wisdom

Ageless Wisdom
We can typically glean much value from traditional wisdom because the insight that has served others well for generations will have some relevance in the machinations of our existence. The circumstances we face in the present will not always correspond with the trials and triumphs experienced by our predecessors, yet we will almost always be able to find some parallels in their counsel that help us see the world from a different perspective.

There are people who discount certain forms of guidance because it is old and they fear it has lost its worth. When we reject the notion that only what is novel has significance, we discover new worlds of helpful and astute assistance buried in tradition. The direction you find in conventional wisdom will see you through to the other side of many challenges.

Thoughtfulness

The things you do for others contribute something valuable to their lives. If you can remind yourself that it is the everyday acts of kindness that really matter, you could find it easier to give even more of yourself today. As you go about your day, try to think of little ways that you can help other people; holding open doors, smiling, letting someone go ahead of you in line, etc. These small actions may not seem like much taken individually, but combined, they can truly affect the lives of those around you. The energy you put out has a ripple effect on others and even though you may not be aware of the conflicting thoughts that someone else has going through his/her mind, your small act of kindness at a crucial moment, will encourage that person to restore faith in humankind and allow positive energy to again enter his/her reality.

The everyday thoughtfulness that we show other people has a great influence on the world around us. We may think that really contributing to the world means that we do something grandiose, but it is often in the smaller things we do that we can truly change the lives of others, for it is how we live our lives over the long term that truly has bearing on what we are able to add to this world. Seeing your actions in this light will make you much more likely to give of yourself in such a way as to really foster a giving and helpful spirit toward others.

Treating Yourself to Solitude

Treating Yourself To Solitude

Activities that normally stimulate you can leave you feeling exhausted  on some days. In the company of many people, you may find yourself retreating into unoccupied corners and taking pains to avoid conversing with others.

Try to find a peaceful and pleasant place where you can reflect and relax without being interrupted by people or by pressing obligations. This can be a wonderful time to take a personal day and indulge in those healthful and restful activities that bring you pleasure.

When we see solitude for the treat it is, we can feel positive about the time we spend enjoying the pleasures of our own company. People frequently fear being alone because they equate solitude with loneliness and isolation. However, when we make the choice to spend time apart from our fellow human beings, the solitude can be quite illuminating as it affords us a wonderful opportunity to learn about ourselves and our individual needs.  We can explore the deepest reaches of our souls without making judgements or endeavouring to change ourselves.

Meditation to heal a crisis

Meditation to heal a crisis
This is a good practice for when you are crossing a dire situation. Look for a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. Sit or stand, whichever you prefer. Inhale deeply, hold your breath for 3 seconds, then exhale slowly; repeat three times.

Sense a bubble forming around you, watch it developing around you, try to give it some colour, a colour that brings you comfort. When the bubble is complete, fill it with the love that others feel for you, call these energies forth, your power animal / totem, beings of light, and you may place universal energies in the bubble too.

When the bubble is filled to capacity, it is then time to inhale all the love into each and every one of your cells. Gather lots of love inside you, as it is vital to human life.
It is through this love that we reach the core of our selves, feel yourself releasing to spirit the crisis that is choking you, feel the comforting sensation of releasing this burden.

Continue to breathe inside the bubble, feeling warm and safe as if you were in the maternal womb. Allow your self to remain thus for a few minutes.

When you are ready, breathe in deeply and breathe out softly. Open your eyes.

In Times of Need

In times of need

When we encounter a person in need, we may want to give them something as a way of helping them, but if we give it without also taking a moment to look the person in the eye, making authentic contact, we rob them of the experience of being human.

Being in a position of need leaves people feeling vulnerable, the greatest gift we can give is to meet the person without judgement and with the awareness that we are not superior simply because we are not currently in that position. All began life in need of care and attention, and many of us end life in the same way. Giving and receiving are companion energies that take turns throughout our lives, and we all get a chance to be on both sides of the exchange from time to time.

When we are in the position of giver, we honour those we are helping when we remember the many people who have helped us. Then we can look the person in the eye, aware that we are making contact with a human being who is our equal.

Universal Love

Universal Love
We move through life surrounded by an unflappable aura of compassion when we recognize that all human beings, no matter what state of evolution they are in, are deserving of our love. While we need not support the choices and behaviours of individuals who have not yet reached our level of consciousness, we can support them in their pursuit of growth by sending them light rather than burdening them with the weight of our judgements.

This type of altruism ensures that we can foster a sense of sightless charity in our individual environments. All we come into contact with then become beneficiaries of our kindness, and our own hearts will be lightened by the spirit of care suffusing our existence.

The love you generously grant others will help you promote a culture of compassion wherever you go.
